Tasha knew it was reckless, dangerous and stupid, but she marched down to Fury's office after he talk with Steve and layed it on the line. Not all of it of course, but the Director wasn't blind with that one eye of his. He could tell Agent Romanoff was taking far more than simply a professional interest in Steve Rogers. Wisely, he didn't call her on it.

After hours, she finally had the clearance, the team of lower level agents to help them, the files on how Erskine had done it and a hell of a lot of motivation to get the man she...whatever it was she was feeling for Steve, back to being the first Avenger.

Now all she had to do was convince Steve he could stop hiding and come with. You can't make Captain America if you don't have the key ingredient.

Steve hadn't wanted to risk too many people seeing him so was now in a small quarters on the hellicarrier. He was grateful to the doctors who had helped him move there without anyone else seeing him. When Natasha reached him, he was sat on the bed, reading a book from the 30s. Something he had read when it had first been released. He'd been given it by one of the doctors who thought that he might need something familiar from his original time to help him feel more comfortable.

Tasha had a feeling Steve was going to protest to this idea the moment she said anything. Really she wouldn't have blamed him. He wasn't what he was used to being but Natasha knew that shouldn't change anything.

She also knew things aren't always how they should be.

"Hey." She tapped the edge of the door frame before she stepped inside. Tasha was in her full uniform, complete with all the weapons and gear she used. She had a bag in her hand. "I got a plane, and clearance and a team." She moved closer to Steve, dropping the bag next to him. "Now all i need is you."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve looked up, frowning when he saw her in full gear. The frown deepened when she spoke.

"What for?" he asked, shifting on the bed as he coughed.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Tasha's brought equipment and weapons for him, too. She's busy loading, inspecting and reinspecting the equipment as she speaks. "Because you're an integral part of the equation, Steve." Natasha replies, very business like. "I can't do this without you."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Can't do what?" He replied, still not sure what she was on about. Hoping that she wasn't meaning for him to leave the room, although he knew that was more than likely involved.

"I'm going to find someone who can replicate the serum that changed you." Tasha swallows hard, her words professional but her body language clearly shows she's nervous and afraid, too. "So, you should probably come with."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve could see how nervous she was. But he still didn't want to go outside the roomm. "Natasha, I..."

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know." She steps closer to him, thinking she understands his hesitation. Tasha reaches her hand out to his face. "I'll protect you, I won't let you out of my sight, I promise."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-02 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
His brow furrowed, pulling back slightly. "You'll protect me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Tasha nods, not wanting to get into the reasons she defected from her homeland. One thing is for sure, she won't be welcomed back with open arms and a warm smile. "I have reason to believe there's an organization there that was successful in replicating a version of the serum Erskine did. That's our more promising lead."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Steves mouth opened as he stared at her, trying to take in the fact that there was another serum. That someone had been able to recreate what Erskine had done all those years a go.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"There's a facility," Natasha begins as if she knows about it only from files. "The Red Room. They have a very long history of biological and neurological experimentation and...they're our best bet, I think."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
He swallowed, looking down as he took it in. "And that's where we can find their version of the serum?"

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"If my intel is correct, yes." Tasha swallows hard, part of her wanting to tell him why she knows so much about this so quickly. "Still wanna do this?" She asks softly.

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"if it's what needs to be done." He replied, closing his eyes as hestarted to purposely breath in and out slowly.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Steve." Tasha reaches out for his chin to make him open his eyes and look at her. "You want to be Captain America again, don't you?"

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve reopened his eyes, looking at her as he nodded. Breathing a little heavier.

"Yeah. Yeah, I do."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm ready." Steve replied, nodding before looking at the scientist.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Tasha nods to Steve, putting her gun to the scientist's temple. "Reverse it. Injection. Now."

The Scientist does what she demands, but he's smirking at her when he does, muttering in Russian loud enough for only her to hear. "I was correct about you, Natalia. You are not worthy of this kind of responsibility if you would throw everything you are away for one little man."

Good God, she wants to shoot him in the head. Not because he's wrong, but because he's right and that's....scary.

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
Steve watched with a frown, wondering what he had said.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
She's not going to explain now. "I'll tell you later, just close your damn eyes let this asshole get you back to normal!" Normal isn't the right word, really, It's sort of mean.

OK, so she's a little bit stressed. Or...a lot.

He stared at her for a moment before resting back against the backboard and closing his eyes with a deep breath.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Do it." Natasha glares at the scientist, who knows his process is a bit different than the original formulation and administration device. He smirks, chuckling under his breath before he replies in Russian. "As you wish."

[identity profile] steverogers-cpt.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve glanced at her through the small pane of glass before closing his eyes as the machine started. After a few moments, he screwed his face up, the pain that was rising in him starting to become obviously more severe than the first experiment.

[identity profile] kick-ass-curls.livejournal.com 2012-07-16 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Tasha notices the look on Steve's face. She's never seen this done before obviously. Her gun is pressed against the scientists temple a heartbeat later. "What's happening in there?"

The scientist, again, laughs. "Did I forget to tell you how much it hurts?" He asks her in mocking broken English.
