It had been a very eventful day.
The blood still caked under her fingernails, three showers not enough to wash it away. The Black Widow sat on the roof of a SHIELD building, hiding away from everyone and everything.
She'd told Coulson it was self defense. It was them or her and the mission would have failed if she didn't kill them, but...
...it wasn't.
She could have taken every last one of those men down and finished the mission without a single drop of blood on her hands.
But she didn't. And somewhere, deep inside in a place she had spent so long trying to run from, she liked that she did it.
