Natasha had always been the kind of girl who was bothered by little things that wouldn't upset a normal person. One of those things, however trivial it may have seems, was the fact Captain America had slept through Star Wars coming out. It bothered her, she wasn't sure why. 

Then again, when it came to Steve, Tasha wasn't sure about a lot of things. 

She gave Steve directions to her place, assuming he wouldn't have a TV or a BluRay player for the super deluxe re-re-re-re-re release of the original trilogy, and cleared both their afternoons  of SHIELD duties with the new 'handler'. That guy didn't ask what she was doing the way Phil would have. Tasha was glad about that because she didn't know what the she was doing either. It just sort of happened and in truth, it was pretty damned exciting. This was coming from a girl who's been an assassin for years.

Now that he had the afternoon off, Steve had spent the first hour working out. Having no idea why he felt like he needed to. Afterwards, he had taken a long shower and thought about why he was thinking so much about going to Natashas place. He couldn't come to a conclusion and instead got dressed into his cargo pants and tshirt (the only clothes he really owned) but spent time in front of a mirror trying to come up with a way to make himself look better. But he couldn't find a better way to style his hair, so Steve grabbed his jacket and headed out. Making his way slowly there.

Tasha, in turn, had spend the time trying to get her apartment in line with that she assumed Steve would like. She packed up all her files and weapons and hide them in her bed room. She tried to make the sparse living space looks more welcoming but really Natasha wasn't much of a homebody. She spent too much time away on missions.

She got junk food, movie theater candy and huge bowls of popcorn and soda. It seemed fitting to make the Star Wars experience more real.

When that was done, she had nothing left to do but wait. And pace. And think.

Not good.

When he had found her place, Steve made his way to her door and knocked. As his knuckles connected to the wood, he suddenly wondered whether or not he should have brought something. He sighed, mentally cursing himself for being silly enough for not having thought about it before. Now Steve thought that he was goign to look rude or something worse.

She wouldn't have had room if he'd brought anything. Tasha's place isn't big, just enough for her and a few things and she stuffed it full of food. She's seen Steve eat. The man can EAT and she's worried enough for a small army isn't enough.

Then there's the knock on her door. Natasha freezes, reminding herself why she invited him over in the first place. She has no expectations, no plan. She's simply trying to gauge Steve in an environment outside of work, to determine if that way she's so interested in him is something more than just interest.

"Hey." She pulls the door open, smiling brightly. "I was worried you got lost."

When Natasha opened the door, Steve smiled widely in return. "Hey. I was starting to think I was but luckily I found it." He replied. "Sorry that I dind't bring anything with me."

"What, why?" Oh,yeah. Old fashioned guy being old fashioned. "It's fine. I got lots of food." She steps aside to let him in, gesturing to the living room area where almost every horizontal surface is covered in bowls of popcorn, candy and cans of soda. "Think it'll be a enough?"

Steve stepped inside, briefly glancing around before smiling when he saw just how much food and drink she had put out. "I should think so." He replied with a grin.

"Good. I wasn't sure and I felt kinda stupid asking." Not asking him, asking someone a SHIELD the recommended daily feeding requirements of Captain America. That would lead to questions she wasn't sure she wanted to answer.

Natasha nods to her sofa and shrugs. "I don't have stadium seating or a theater. You want that you'll have to go to Stark's place."

"It's more than fine." He replied with a smile as he walked into the lounge. "The sofas perfect. Anything big just feels weird to me."

"Me, too." Tasha grabs the remote and considers if she'll need to explain anything to him about Star Wars. She might but she'll cross that bridge when they get there. She won't be paying much attention to the movie anyway. This is about figuring Steve out, once and for all so she knows what the hell she's feeling thinking.

Steve smiled before removing his coat and sitting down on the couch. "This is a nice place." He said as he glanced around. It had a lot more than his. All he pretty much had was a bed, a kitchen, a bathroom and a couch. Not that he minded.

She makes money on the side. There are jobs that the Black Widow does that SHIELD doesn't need to know the details of. Steve doesn't need to know either, for that matter. "It's home." She shrugs before she sits down next to him. "What's your place like?" Yes, she's talking over the movie studio logo and theme song.

"Pretty bare. Just a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and couch. Don't really need anything else."

"And what happens when you have people over?" She wondering if Steve even thinks about entertaining company or if he's still sequestering himself.

"I don't have anyone over." He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck quietly.

"Do you think that's ever going to change?" She's not even paying attention to the movie.

"Maybe. I hope so. Would probably have to actually get some things in my apartment that are worthwhile first."

"What do you like?" She's telling herself it's research, to gather and analyse but it's not. Tasha's truly interested.

"Like? Uh.... mostly things that are considered vintage now. I'm still not fitting right with much of the modern world."

She nods leaning back against the sofa. "I know." Natasha turns the TV down before turning to face him. "Why do you think I invited you over here, anyway?"

"You were, uh.... tryin' to be nice?" He replied, scratching the back of his head whilst starting to get a feeling that wasn't the complete answer.

The way he doesn't 'get it' really is cute. "I am nice. You told me so yourself." Natasha smiles, hopping a little closer to him. She considers everything she's been though with him recently. Why shouldn't she be nice to him?

"Steve?" Natasha whispers. "Why did you agree to come over here today?"

Steve looked into her eyes as she moved closer then spoke, parting his lips slightly as he started to get an inkling of what she was getting at. Then he thought about why he agreed to come to hers. He'd been telling himself that it was because they were becoming friends, but now he wasn't so sure that that was the real answer.

Natasha isn't trying to push something on him he doesn't want. She's well aware the kind of man Steve is. He's got an innocence about him that she lost far too young, which is why she feels guilty entertaining thoughts that could corrupt that.

He's almost like an angel, and her...well she doesn't want to think about everything she's done. Tasha won't be sporting any metaphoric wings, that's for sure.

She glances at the television, wondering for a moment if she should ignore his silence. Instead, Natasha reaches her finger out and taps him on the forehead gently. "I asked you a question, Cap. You OK in there?"

Steve stayed silent for a few moments before swallowing. "Huh? Oh, yeah... yeah, i'm fine. I'm okay, i'm fine." Steve replied, stumbling with his words slightly.
